Easter Children Workshop Series
The Easter Children's Workshop Series was successfully held on 19-21 April 2019! Over 40 participants have joined us on this immersive journey of unbounded creativity, discovery, learning and fun! Through a specially curated program of interactive play and live performances,
participants were introduced to the essential elements of theatre, classical music, folk and tango, and much more.
These workshops were prepared based on Cedar’s own Cedar Holistic Education Curriculum, and were jointly led by renowned artists and experienced teachers.
Children's Theatre and Music Workshop
Featured original live music and storytelling by acclaimed singer-songwriter Jing Wong, and experienced early childhood education professional, Candace Lee.
Seeing the World Through Folk Music & Tango
Participants explored musical cultures around the world with Café 852 - Hong Kong's premier Tango band.
Dance and Music Improvisation with Acoufunkture
Through this high energy, fun and engaging workshop, participants learnt about musicality, rhythm and creative movement.
Essential Musical Concepts Through Play & Classical Strings
Our advisor, Dr. Kitty Cheung and faculty member, Ms. Rebecca Li, hosted a workshop on 11 May 2019 on the essential music concepts. Participants gained a taste of the elements of music through various activities as well as Vivaldi's iconic "Four Seasons".
Bach, Brahms & Beyond
Led by our Finland, Germany, and UK-trained early childhood educator, participants (aged 1.5 - 3 years old) of the Cedar Young Musicians Workshop on 6 and 7 July 2019 experienced the magic of Bach, Brahms, Mozart and many more. Designed to encourage creative expression through music, movement and play; enhance sensory, cognitive and gross motor skills; strengthen bonding and trust with parents, participants had a very enjoyable afternoon!
Peter & The Wolf
Led by our Finland, Germany, and UK-trained early childhood educator, participants (aged 3.5 - 5 years old) of the Cedar Young Musicians Workshop on 6 and 7 July 2019 went on an adventure with Peter and the Wolf. Designed to encourage positive character development, participants learnt about expressing emotions and ideas through music and other creative art form, collaborated with one another in activities and had their first attempt with composition!
