Terms and Conditions

​Below outlines the Terms and Conditions by Cedar Education Group Limited and its affiliates (together known as Cedar Education Group):

​

  1. General premise rules:

    • Cedar Education Group has a no shoes policy on the Cedar Academy premise. Parents and children are required to wear socks (ideally non-slip) and comfortable clothing for classes / programmes / workshops / events. ​

    • No outside food or drinks (except drinking water, milk formula or prescribed medication) is permitted anywhere on the Cedar Academy premise. 

    • Cedar Education Group is not responsible for any loss / damage / injury / voluntary departure of students. 

  2. ​Inclement weather policy:​
    • In the interest of our students' safety, we follow the guidelines of the Education Bureau of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Cedar Education Group Inclement Weather Policy.

    • If the Black Rainstorm Warning, Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted and remains in effect by 8:00am on the day of the class, the morning classes will be reschedule to a later date (subject to availability). 

    • If the Black Rainstorm Warning, Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted and remains in effect by 12:00pm on the day of the class, the afternoon classes will be reschedule to a later date.

    • If the Black Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is no longer hoisted or is lowered before 12:00pm, afternoon classes operate as usual. 

    • Amber Rainstorm Warning or Red Rainstorm Warning: all classes operate as usual.

    • Typhoon Signal No. 1 and No. 3: all classes operate as usual. 

  3. Sickness / Absence / Cancellation policy:

    • Sickness:
      • Cancellation within 24 hours with valid doctor's certificate: no refund but a make-up class can be arranged (subject to availability and policy).  A valid doctor's certificate must be issued by a registered medical practitioner within 48 hours prior to the affected class or within 24 hours from the affected class. Such doctor's certificate must be submitted to Cedar Education Group as soon as practicable. Any doctor's certificate received after 24 hours from the affected class will not be accepted.   
      • Cancellation within 24 hours without valid doctor's certificate: the class is forfeited with no refund. No make-up class will be offered.  
      • Any case of extended sickness (3 or more weeks) will be considered individually. The decision of Cedar Education Group is final. 
    • Withdrawal:
      • No refund or credit will be provided for students withdrawing after a programme / course commences.
      • For students who has successfully enrolled in a programme / course but withdraws from it before the programme / course commences, 50% of the programme / course fee plus $200 will be charged as processing fee. The cancellation request must be made in writing at least 2 business days before the commencement of the programme. Late cancellation request will be subject to a processing fee of 75% of the programme / course fee plus $200. 
    • Cancellation:
      • If a class / event is cancelled due to teacher absence / sickness, a credit will be issued. ​
      • For cancellation of a class due to any reasons other than sickness, a cancellation request must be made in writing at least 48 hours ahead of the class. If the cancellation request is accepted, a make up class can be arranged (subject to availability and policy). Otherwise, the lesson will be forfeited with no refund. 
    • Make-up class:​​
      • A maximum of one make-up class / reschedule request will be accepted for every enrolment term.
      • All make-up classes are subject to availability.   ​
      • Make-up classes must be taken within 1 month from the date of absence. 
  4. Health and Safety Protocols:

    • Before every class, parents must take their child's temperature before leaving home. If the child has a temperature of 37.2 degrees or above, the student must stay home and cannot attend class. Any accompanying guardian / parent must follow the same protocol. â€‹

    • Anyone entering the premise of Cedar Education Group declares that:

      • They are not feeling unwell.​

      • They do not have any fever or any flu-like / respiratory / COVID-19 CDC-recognised symptoms within the past 10 days prior to the class. 

      • They have not been in close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or is a probable or suspected case within the past 10 days prior to the class.

        • They have not been in close contact with anyone who has COVID-19 like symptoms within the past 10 days prior to the class.  

      • They are not living in any property that is under compulsory COVID-19 testing.

      • They have not travelled anywhere in the last 21 days. 

      • They have not been in close contact with anyone who has travelled in the last 21 days. 

  5. Rights of Cedar Education Group:

    • Cedar Education Group reserves the absolute right of decision in case of any dispute. 

    • Cedar Education Group reserves the absolute right of amend and alter the school / course / programme / class / performance / workshop guidelines and policies at any time in its sole discretion.

    • Cedar Education Group reserves the absolute right to amend and alter the schedule (date and time) and venue of the programmes / courses / classes / workshops at our own discretion and shall inform parents / students in reasonable due course.

    • Cedar Education Group reserves the absolute right to reschedule any course / programme / class to a later date if there is significant traffic disruptions or safety concerns occur on the day of the course / programme / class. 

    • Cedar Education Group reserves the right to cancel any course / programme / class / performance / workshop due to insufficient enrolment. Every effort will be made to place students in a similar course. If none is available, a refund will be issued. 

  6. Photo and Videos:

    • Any images, videos, sound recordings take during classes, performances, workshops or related by Cedar Education Group will belong to the property of Cedar Education Group and Cedar Education Group reserves the right to use them on displays, websites, exhibitions, promotions, editorials and promotional materials at any time in the future without the need to seek further permission from parents / students unless otherwise advised in written notification by parents/ students during his / her first time application / enrolment.​
