ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
What are your favourite folk and dance songs? Did you know that folk music is actually all around us – they are the simple tunes that we often hum without consciously knowing that we know them.
At this workshop, Café 852 will bring to you an engaging performance, through which you and your child will be introduced to various musical cultures around the world. Through the technical mastery of Farley’s trumpet, Nazar’s accordion and Felix’s violin, you will delve into the rich cultural diversity of folk songs and embark on a musical voyage travelling from Russia, Serbia, Poland, Hungary, Spain, France, to Argentina.
With lots of music, movement and fun, your child will be introduced to the various instruments, the poly rhythms found in traditional folk music, unusual chords and intricate melodies, as well as the fiery passion of the popular Argentinean folk dance known as the Tango.
