Why Humanities?

To study humanities is to study the human experience, thought and culture. It is the rich and interdisciplinary study of literature, arts, history and philosophy. Humanities provide us with a channel to preserve and admire the human accomplishments of the past, a platform to understand the world we currently live in, and an avenue to imagine the future.

Through these courses, students will learn to reason and question, think critically and creatively, engage in inspiring, profound and challenging discussion, develop social awareness and grow in character. For all classes at Cedar, character development is an integral part of the learning experience.
